For many years, VO has been committed to supporting associations that fight against inequality and injustice all year round, and help to alleviate the daily lives of those who need it most. As we approach the end of the year, we are taking the opportunity to invite our employees and clients to vote for the association that is the best match with their beliefs and values, using a list containing a series of non-profit organisations that focus on violence, minorities, the very young, the very old, diversity, disease, animals, ecology or sectors in difficulty. In 2021, 3,000 euros were made available to support the association attracting the most votes.
In December, with the arrival of the festive season, which, for many of us, is a time to share, bond and come together, the majority of VO employees and our clients have chosen to support the association Solidarité Grands Froids. In addition to making a donation, we decided to take our involvement a step further by holding meetings so that everyone could learn about, become aware of and understand the various struggles. At our latest drink, Cynthia and Yves from Solidarité Grands Froids did us the honour of telling us their story and describing the urgency of their mission for people in distress. This was an opportunity for the staff to ask questions and discuss the association’s everyday work.
Solidarité Grands Froids has been working since 2012 to help people with psychological, physical and/or social difficulties.
Their main mission is to help the homeless people of Brussels to live in dignity, by collecting funds as well as material goods redistributed as clothing, toiletries, shoes, etc. - in winter as well as throughout the year, because any season can be a challenge for some of us.
Thank you to these guardian angels, who work to warm the hearts of others.
