VO

Turning 100 European voices into concrete recommandations

Project description

How can digitalization truly serve justice if it’s not designed with those who use it every day? During the European Judicial Training Conference, VO Lab facilitated a two-day HackaLab bringing together nearly 100 participants from member states and a wide range of legal professions: judges, prosecutors, court staff, lawyers, notaries, bailiffs, probation officers, and prison staff.

The mission: identify skills and training needed to ensure smooth and effective digital transition of national justice systems, while supporting implementation of the new EU Digitalization Regulation.

The approach combined collaborative workshops, expert-led discussions, and targeted facilitation to ensure every voice was heard. An additional team of trained facilitators from the client organization helped lead breakout sessions, multiplying engagement and ownership.

Result

A comprehensive mapping of training needs for justice digitalization, concrete recommendations to guide the next European Judicial Training Strategy, and increased collaboration between diverse legal professions across EU member states. The alignment between EU ambitions and national realities is significantly strengthened.
