🚨 Freelance Opportunity: PR Manager (EU Project) 

📍 Based in Brussels | 🕐 Start: May 2025 | ⏳ Duration: 2+ years | 💼 Medior/Senior Level 

We’re urgently looking for an experienced Public Relations Manager to join an exciting, high-profile European communication project starting May 2025. This is a long-term freelance mission (until mid-2027) involving EU-wide visibility, local activations, and strategic media partnerships. 

What’s the job about? 

You’ll be leading all PR and media relations efforts across Europe for a flagship initiative that promotes smart, sustainable, and vibrant communities. You’ll work hand-in-hand with our content, events and strategy teams to secure coverage and raise awareness at EU, national, regional and local levels. 

Your responsibilities 

Press & Media Relations 

– Draft and coordinate 10–12 press releases over 2 years
– Prepare and update extensive EU media lists (39 countries)
– Secure high-level media coverage (EU, national, regional, local)
– Manage journalist outreach and press relations for key events
– Develop and manage press kits and media assets
– Organise on-site press presence at EU and local events 

 Local City Campaigns 

– Lead PR efforts for activations in selected European cities
– Coordinate interviews and media coverage with local outlets
– Craft tailored pitches highlighting innovation and impact 

 Media Partnerships 

– Oversee a paid media partnership plan, including native content and editorials
– Liaise with media platforms across Europe
– Ensure visibility in key regional and thematic channels 

 Monitoring & Reporting 

– Monitor and report on media performance and KPIs (via Talkwalker and manual tracking)
– Provide strategic insights and PR impact reports to stakeholders
– Track and archive press coverage and outcomes 

You’ll thrive in this role if you have: 

✔️ 4–5+ years experience in PR, media relations or EU-level communication
✔️ A strong record of securing impactful press coverage across Europe
✔️ Excellent writing and storytelling skills
✔️ Experience working with EU institutions or on EU-funded projects
✔️ A diplomatic, organised, and autonomous mindset
✔️ A network of journalists at EU or national level is a plus
