Positive Impact Award: what it takes to be on the podium 

On 28 March 2024, VO’s name stood out from the crowd again when it received the Positive Impact Award (Silver) for the 3rd consecutive year during the Agency of the Year Ceremony.  

Created by Media Marketing and PitchPoint, Agency of the Year recognizes the performant communication agencies in Belgium in areas like innovation, entrepreneurship, specialists in a specific expertise, commitment to having a positive impact etc.  

Guided by the core conviction that tomorrow’s society will depend on our actions today, we have oriented all our actions (internal and external meaning on the field) around a series of concrete actions that have proven their efficiency over time.   

We Train

Education and skill development are the cornerstone of progress. 92% of our staff is trained today and 86% of confidence level was registered. 

We Calculate

We carefully evaluate the consequences of our actions, considering not only their immediate impact but also their long-term implications. To date, 92% of B2B events and 65% of communication campaigns assessed using our My Impact Tool 

We Improve

We set 12 objectives based on the SDGs that help us to measure and report. Achievements include reducing CAP48’s carbon footprint by 30% over two editions and the successful Bruxelles Propreté – net.brussel campaign aimed at changing the behaviour of Brussels’ residents. A 138% increase in food waste sorting and 80%  of the population quickly adopted the new collection schedule. 

We Offset and Decarbonise

In two ways: by planting trees in Belgium (in partnership with PlantC) – 15,356 planted so far over the past three years – and by financing environmental and social projects abroad. As a result, €45,865 were invested in 2023 (client’s and VO financial participation). You can find more info here. 

We Maintain Communication Balance

Effective communication lies at the heart of societal cohesion. We must strike a balance between responsible communication, which upholds truth, integrity, and ethical principles, and inclusive communication, which embraces diversity. By fostering open dialogue, we narrow gaps, foster understanding, and cultivate a sense of unity amidst diversity. 

We Share and Spread the Word

Knowledge is power, but only when shared. We don’t want to keep the good practices for us, but drive change within our industry and beyond. In this light, we propose My Impact Tool to everybody who wants to join the transition and we share our experience to inspire other companies. 

If we maintained three years in a row our status of Positive Impact Agency, it is definitely thanks to the actions mentioned above. One takeover of our CSR commitment is that progress is not a destination but a journey of perpetual exercise.
