The Little Voice calls on your neighbours to celebrate responsible businesses

Bruxelles Environnement is launching a new awareness campaign aimed at small Brussels-based entrepreneurs to remind them that an environmental permit is sometimes required to carry out their activity.

To inform these small businesses, which are often poorly informed, Bruxelles Environnement unveils a campaign by The Little Voice: “Approved by your neighbours”.

When stars replace forms

Inspired by the rating systems of major online shopping platforms, the campaign repurposes the famous rating stars to make the environmental permit a mark of local satisfaction.
Being “approved by your neighbours” means running your business in a way that respects the neighbourhood, the environment, and collective well-being — in short, turning your neighbours into your best ambassadors.

Two films, two tales of good neighbourliness

The two 15-second spots – The Laundrette and The Car Wash – directed by Benoît Baudson and Nicolas Dedecker (AMI Brussels), humourously illustrate the fine line between nuisance and harmony.
In The Laundrette, a man stoically eats while his dishes shake to the rhythm of the drum below. Until the day calm is restored, backed by five stars.
In The Car Wash, a neighbour watches her plant wither under the foam… before seeing it flourish once the nuisance is under control.
Sound design is at the heart of the campaign: harsh mechanical noises give way to calming silence, symbolising the balance between economic activity and quality of life.

Positive and accessible communication

Launched from 24 November 2025 on LinkedIn, Meta, YouTube, programmatic video, Google Ads, and Search, the campaign targets independent workers, artisans, and small Brussels-based enterprises who may be affected by the environmental permit.
It forms part of Bruxelles Environnement’s 2025–2027 strategy: simplifying the message, reassuring, supporting, and highlighting practical tools such as MyPermit and hub.brussels.
