Project description

VO Event has been working with Levi Strauss & Co Europe since 2004. We organise, among other things, the brand’s bi-annual Sales Launches. These European events bring together between 600 and 1000 people from all over Europe to discover the new collection during 3 days of workshops, conferences and a fashion show. Each edition takes place in a new European city, and must reflect the brand’s identity and inspire the guests.  In addition to presenting the new collection, this event allows its leaders to share the vision and orientations of the brand with all employees, sales, and major customers. The guidelines given during these three days are then applied throughout the year across Europe. The event is therefore an important communication tool for the brand.   

 For the 2020 collection, the wind of change blew over Barcelona. The city of Gaudi witnessed the new course that Levi Strauss & Co has chosen to follow – sustainability. Not wanting to just jump on a passing trend, the brand called on VO to inaugurate a new pillar in the company. For 3 days, VO encouraged the participants to dream of a world where innovation and fashion are in tune with sustainability, through a programme of workshops, showrooms and a show. Involved at every level, VO was able to make this large-scale international event an innovative and responsible occasion.   

 

Result

The impact is twofold – raising awareness among participants and reducing the carbon footprint and waste production to make it an exemplary event.  As examples, the agency opted for sustainable materials, and certified venue and 100% vegetarian catering during the 3 days. 

In addition to multiple initiatives that completely changed the design of the event, the results are very telling when compared to a previous edition (e.g, Berlin 2018). See how the 2019 edition compares to the 2018 edition in terms of carbon footprint.
